Harm Reduction
Harm reduction is a term that describes services and actions that aim to reduce the health, social and economic harm of substance use to the individuals who use them, their communities and the larger society.
Harm reduction services support people to make informed choices about moderating or stopping their drug use, by providing up to date information and practical advice on safer use. We provide a mobile/home needle and syringe exchange service, offering bespoke injecting equipment packs which can include; various needle sizes, Vit C, citric, filters and different barrel sizes. We also offer advice, support and information to reduce potential harm from injecting drug use and BBV screening.
Stimulant Service
Provides assessments, one to one key working sessions, complementary therapies and a weekly group which is held on Fridays at 2.30pm – 4pm at Warmley .This is CBT based and includes brief solution focused therapies for people who are using crack-cocaine or other stimulants.
The stimulant service provides stimulant specific auricular acupuncture which can be given on a one to one basis or in a group setting, and meditation which is held on a Friday at Warmley 1pm -2pm
Naloxone Overdose Recognition and Response
In partnership with the British Red Cross, we provide training in basic life support and administration of Naloxone. This takes place at both Warmly and Yate and is aimed at current injecting opiate users and will also be open to the friends and family of opiate users
