Housing and Support
DHI delivers services to support people in finding and maintaining safe, stable accommodation. We believe that having a suitable place to live is crucial to achieving an independent, positive and fulfilling life.
A Housing Support Clinic is available to anyone with previous or present drug or alcohol use wanting to gain information on any housing, debt or benefits issue. It is run on a drop-in basis every Monday between 11am and 2pm
Our Floating Support service is a specialist drug and alcohol housing service in Swindon. This service compliments the drug treatment services provided by DHI and other providers in Swindon. Its remit is to provide varying levels of support to people who are experiencing difficulties in accessing suitable accommodation or maintaining tenancies due to past or current problematic drug or alcohol use.

Help maintaining your current accommodation
Assistance with welfare benefits and maximizing your entitlements.
Practical advice and assistance in dealing with rent arrears
Help claiming Housing and Council Tax Benefit
Advice and assistance on budgeting
Help to access other support and advocacy services
Resettlement support if you’re moving into a new home
Life skills training
Help furnishing your home
On entry to any of this service we will discuss with you what support we can offer to address your needs and agree a tailored support plan with you. You can have a family member, carer or advocate with you at these meetings should you want to.
