Swindon Services

DHI in Swindon provides a comprehensive range of practical and emotional support services to people using drugs. These services are available in our treatment centre in Maxwell Street, a range of outreach venues and in people’s homes.

The drop-in is available on a daily basis where people can access harm reduction advice and information, health screening and signposting and referral on to other agencies. DHI operate the single point of entry in to all drug services in Swindon via triage assessments, which are available at the drop-in as well as on an appointment basis and over the telephone.

There is an outreach service, offering support to people who may not yet be ready to engage in services or those who may have left treatment in an unplanned way, including sex workers. This ensures that people stay in touch with treatment services and continue to receive harm reduction advice and information.

The stimulant service offers both open access and structured interventions, including groups, 1-1s, health checks and harm reduction.

Aftercare focuses on supporting people in to a range of activities to promote self confidence, skills development and encourage more positive use of time. This includes education, voluntary work, employment and leisure pursuits.

Recognising the importance of having stable accommodation in order to make lifestyle changes, we also provide a support service to people using drugs and/or alcohol with housing related needs. This includes a weekly housing clinic and a floating support service.
