The Drugs and Homeless Initiative is a local charity that was set up in 1999 to help those in need out of the cycle of homelessness and drug/alcohol abuse. Its aim is to assist people to address their addictions and so gain control of their lives again. During that time DHI have helped over 4,000 individuals overcome their addictions and put homelessness, drug and alcohol dependency behind them to build a better future.
DHI offer services in Bath & North East Somerset, Wiltshire, Mendip and South Gloucestershire.
DHI is a needs and user-led service which aims to empower the individual. DHI prides itself on being able to offer their clients an environment where everyone is encouraged to develop their potential and we strive to provide a community feel to our services, providing an alternative to the kind of environment that clients have come to us from.
“DHI provides its clients with a combination of professional and community support that helps people find their way through and out of problems relating to drugs and alcohol. Importantly DHI attends to the whole person and supports people to find new purpose, structure and direction in their lives.”
