Aftercare assists clients to access appropriate therapeutic treatment to prevent relapse into substance misuse and to develop independent skills in order to find and remain in meaningful employment. Groups include:
Evening Change Support Group
A drop in talking support group for people making changes around substance use that do not extend to abstinence.
Relapse Prevention Support Group
Drop in group for abstinent clients.
Social & Creative Activities
Social and creative activities delivered by volunteers and or peer workers.
Activities
DHI organise a number of groups for clients to join. Groups include the Gardening Club which has an allotment at Victoria Park, The Walking Group, Games Nights and Golf Club.
Volunteer Inclusion Scheme
Within Aftercare, the Volunteer Inclusion Scheme enables clients to contribute to their local community through volunteering and work placements. Base in the rural areas of North East Somerset, the programme offers training, volunteering and work related opportunities to individuals who feel socially excluded as a result of past drug misuse.
Creative Projects
An Art workshop offers taster sessions in the Fine Arts such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and photography. A Digital workshop offers introductions to design, imaging and basic IT Skills.
