NATIONWIDE Bath Half Marathon
Unforeseen circumstances meant that the start of the Bath Half Marathon was delayed for an hour. However, DHI runners were in high spirits and remarkably unfazed by the hold up, although they were keen to get going around the course, morale was high as they waiting together in our office and out of the wet weather. All along the race course, they were met by the tremendous cheering crowds of support and thankfully without the rain!
The team of runners were made up of Drugs and Homeless Initiative supporters, clients and staff, coming from as far as Swindon and Cheltenham to take part. One of our supporters, Linda from Cheltenham, ran the Bath Half Marathon as part of her training as she is taking part in the London Marathon in April 2008. We want to wish her all the best for the rest of her training and for the day itself!
We are really proud of all of our runners, they did incredibly well. They committed their time to weeks and even months of training and put their selves through the physical endurance of the half marathon to raise much needed funds for various specialist services to support our clients.
We would also like to thank our individual and organisational supporters for their kind sponsorship.
